The Islamic Revolutionary Tribunal of the city of Maragha, S. Azerbaijan has found Mehdi Deihami guilty of “Anti-State Propaganda” and sentenced him to one year incarceration.
Judge Davarnia of the Revolutionary Tribunal has found Deihami guilty of “Anti –State Propaganda” merely based on a flash drive with allegedly “nationalistic” content recovered by intelligence agents from his residence.
Mehdi Deihami was detained along with some other Turkic activists in the city of Malikan in August 2014.
Mr. Deihami is known to Iran’s intelligence agency, Ettelaat as he previously served a 5 month imprisonment due to his participation in an environmental protest criticizing the regime’s disinclination to protect Lake Urmu.
