Ayat Mehralibagli, one of  the leading members of Yeni  GAMOH, The New Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement, convicted of establishing  a “Subversive Organization  Against Islamic Republic of Iran”  and  sentenced to 9 years in prison, has been granted a leave of absence from the prison for 5 days.

Mr. Mehralibagli  who  was released for a 5 – day furlough on August 18 is sadly packing up to return to Julfa prison where he is recently transferred subsequent to his lengthy hunger strike. He was held at the Tabriz Prison prior to the transfer.

Ayat, also  know as Yursh is married and has one child. New Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement is struggling  to secure the Right of Self- Determination of South Azerbaijani People.

Yurush is one of the 5 leading members of Yeni GAMOH. The other 4 members of the organization namely, Latif Hasani, the Leader of Yeni GAMOH, Behbud Qulizade, Shahram Radmehr, and Mahmud Fazli are also  sentenced to 9 years imprisonment  by the Islamic Revolutionary Tribunal  and are held in separate prisons across the country.
