Ali Jabbari a well-known South Azerbaijani poet and publicist is among the protesters arrested yesterday in South Azerbaijan. Ali Jabbari was giving a short speech during the protest in Tabriz when he was brutalized and taken away by the intelligence officers of Ettelaat.
Jabbari who is a teacher by profession, is known to Ettelaat due to his compatriot poems and publications. It is believed that Mr. Jabbari is being interrogated at the solitary confinement of the Ettelaat in Tabriz and may have been subjected to unusual treatment or torture.
