South Azerbaijani Lawyer Tahir Naghavi’s Life In Danger!

South Azerbaijani lawyer Tahir Naghavi is being dragged to his death in Evin Prison in Tehran by being deprived of his right to treatment.
Arrested by security forces on February 5, 2024, Naghavi was transferred to Evin Prison after being held in solitary confinement in the intelligence center for months and subjected to severe torture. He is currently serving the 14th month of his 5-year prison sentence imposed by the regime on false charges of “meeting and secret collusion.” Prison doctors stated that Nakavi’s health condition had been alarming from the moment he first entered prison, and that ultrasounds and specialist tests needed to be performed urgently. However, Iranian security and prison authorities deliberately obstructed this process for months. Finally, the South Azerbaijani lawyer was referred to a Hospital on April 19, and tests revealed a thickened mass in the bladder and prostate area, and it was determined that urgent surgery was required.

By preventing Nakavi from undergoing surgery outside of prison, the Iranian regime authorities are clearly putting him at risk of losing his life. Tahir’s life depends on the surgery that should have been performed long ago.
