Another prominent South Azerbaijani political activist; namely Mr. Yurush Mehralibayli has been arrested by Iran’s notorious intelligence service Ettelaat. His sister Durna Mehralibeyli has confirmed her brother’s arrest.

According to Ms.Mahralibayli, on the evening of November 7 security officers stormed to their residence and arrested the national activist and took him to an unknown location. The reason for his arrest and the charge against Yurush Mehralibayli who was previously arrested and imprisoned for his peaceful political and linguistic activities.

Reportedly over 50 activists have been detained by the Ettelaat within the last few weeks including, Hamid Yeganpoor, Shahin Barzgar, Vahid Abhari, Parviz Siyabi, Nasim Soltanbeyli, Ali Rzazade and others.
