Another South Azerbaijani activist namely Soheila Kargar(pictured along with her minor child) who was arrested on 15th May 2016 in her hometown Gazvin is officially charged with “establishing an unlawful group.”
According to Ms. Kargar’s brother, Javad Kargar the Iranian Intelligence Agency charged Soheila with such a “criminal” offence simply because she allegedly created a telegram (a mobile communication app) discussion group named “Goy Qurshagi “. Goy Qurshagi in Turkic means Rainbow in Egnlish. Her brother also indicated that his sister was brutally beaten up by the Iranian intelligence agents upon her arrests.
The agents confiscated her books, laptop, disks, flash drives and marked them as “evidence” . Soheila is being held in Tehran’s tarnished Evin Prison and is feared to have been subjected to torture and unusual treatments.
