Ibrahim Nouri of Ahar , South Azerbaijan has gone on hunger strike demanding his unconditional and immediate release. It is reported that his health is deteriorating on the 12th day of his strike as he is no refusing to intake water.
Despite his relatives pleas the Revolutionary Prosecutor’s office of Ahar has refused to release the activist.
He is being held in the Ahar prison since his arrest which took place 2 weeks ago due to his ethnic rights activities. Mr. Nouri was arrested by Ettelaat of Ahar along with some other activists for allegedly preparing to launch a protest against the “Terh e Nou” Newspaper which published hate speech about Azerbaijani Turks.
