The security forces of the occupying regime of Islamic Republic arrested Azerbaijani activist Ovchu (Sayyad) Mohammadian at his home in Karaj yesterday morning. The arbitrary arrest was carried out without a court order and in a brutal manner.

Ovchu Mohammadian is originally from Qoshachay (Miandoab) and is a resident of the city of Karaj near Tehran. Prior to this, he was repeatedly subjected topersecution and threats by the security forces for his civil activities and protesting against linguistic and cultural discrimination against Turks in Iran.

This activist was previously arrested by the Intelligence ministry at his home on May 15 and was released on bail on June 26.
