Mr. Shahabaddin Bimegdar, the member of Iranian parliament and a leading Turkic Parliamentary Fraction has told media that due to “extra sensitivity” to the term “Turk” in Iran, the Turkic Fraction of Iranian Parliament was forced to disband. Mr. Bimegdar the MP from Tabriz, South Azerbaijan alleged that “…since its formation, the Fraction never launched an official meeting.” He went on to claim that “… they will attempt to establish the North-western Fraction.”
The term “North-West” is a term the Persian regime uses to refer to Azerbaijani provinces in order to refrain from using the name of Azerbaijan or Turk.
On the other hand, Mr. Gazipur,(pictured above) one of the founding members from city of Urmiya has denied his colleague’s allegations and claimed that the Turkic Fraction has not been dissolved.
The Turkic Fraction was established a couple months earlier with approximately 110 members of parliament with a notion to promote Turkic language and culture and social economy of Azerbaijan provinces.
