The Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Tribunal has upheld a 10-year (9 years and 8 months) prison sentence handed down by a lower court to Mr. Akbar Naimi. He is accused of establishing “illegal groups and assemblies”. Mr. Akber Naimi merely operated “illegal” home schools and taught Azerbaijani Turkic language and literature which is banned by the regime of Tehran. He is currently being held in Evin Prison in Tehran.
