According to his relatives, the South Azerbaijani activist Ibrahim Nuri has been deprived of his visitation right and moved to the 209th section and kept in solitary confinement. The activist have been mentally and physical tortured by intelligence agents.

Nuri was detained by the security forces of Ettelaat in Tehran on 12th of June 2018, just a few days before the Babek Castle march, and taken to the 209th section of the Evin Prison.
On August 11, the Amnesty International condemned the illegal detention of Azerbaijani activist in Iran and demanded that Nuri be released.

Several days before the activist’s detention, Ettelaat warned him and his brother, Faraj Nuri, to refrain from going to the Babek Castle rally. They were informed that they would be detained if you participate in the march.
Ibrahim Nuri, a law student, is 27 years old. He has been engaged in cultural activities since he was 14, during which he had been repeatedly detained by the security forces and subjected to various pressures. He was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment and 10 months’ imprisonment for alleged involvement in three different charges for his active civil and cultural activities.
