A 28-year-old Azerbaijani Turk named Alirza Gulizadeh, of Khalkhal in Ardabil Province, South Azerbaijan, was killed in Tehran during protest demonstrations carried out by regime forces.
His body was buried yesterday in his hometown by his family. Due to internet shutdowns in Iran, there is no precise information about the full scale of crimes committed by the regime. However, over time, details about the identities of those killed by the regime are gradually emerging.
Most of the killings have taken place in Tehran and surrounding regions. Given that an estimated 50–80 percent of the populations of Tehran, Karaj, and Qazvin are Turkic, it is reported that more than half of the victims are of Turkic Azerbaijani origin.
