Sahar Mami-Zadeh, a civil rights activist from Ardabil, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of Ardabil to a total of 25 months and 15 days of imprisonment and 50 lashes.
The charges brought against the civil rights activist include “propaganda against the Islamic Republic through the publication of content on social media,” “insulting Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei,” and “disturbing public order through appearing in the streets and engaging in actions contrary to public security.”
According to the verdict, she was sentenced to seven months and 15 days of imprisonment for the first charge and 15 months of imprisonment for the second charge. In addition, invoking Article 618 of the Islamic Penal Code, the court sentenced her to three months of imprisonment and 50 lashes for the charge of “disturbing public order.”
