MEN IN TABRIZ GET PRISON TERM FOR STAGING ANTI-CHINESE PROTEST

The Islamic Revolutionary Tribunal of Tabriz, South Azerbaijan has found 3 South Azerbaijani cultural rights activist guilty of “anti-Islamic propaganda” and issued a sentence of 6 months in prison against each. The activists, Rasul Razavi, Sevindik Lutfi and Husseain Rakhshani Kiya were found to have “propagated against Islamic regime” due to their support of Uygur Turks in China. Allegedly, the activists staged a protest with sings and slogans in support of the suppressed people of Eastern Turkestan and uttering slogans against Chinese regime during Kudus Day mass demonstrations.

It is unclear that how the Islamic Revolutionary Tribunal of Iran has concluded that uttering slogans against the Communist regime of China would be propaganda against Islamic values. Kudus Day mass demonstrations are staged on the last Friday of Ramadan every year in Iran in “solidarity with the people of Palestine”.
