SOUTH AZERBAIJANI POLITICAL PRISONERS END HUNGER STRIKE

South Azerbaijani prisoners have ended their hunger strike as the authorities of Ardebil Prison pledged to improve the condition of the prison. Murteza Parvin, Mustafa Parvin, Said Sadeqi, Saleh Pichqanlu commenced a hunger strike 6 days earlier in an attempt the to draw attention to the unbearable condition of political prisoners in the Ardebil prison.
The aforesaid political activists were arrested for attending in a civil and peaceful protest against racist program “ Fetileh” and for bogus charges of “anti-state propaganda” simply for carrying a banner which demanded an immediate release of one of well-known South Azerbaijani activist Abbas Lisani. The activist are serving their convictions of 3-6 months prison.
