Abbas Lisani: I Will Join The Protest!

National activist and former political prisoner Abbas Lisani announced that he will join a sit-in protest in front of Evin Prison if the legitimate demands of Azerbaijani political prisoners Tahir Naqavi and Vudud Esedi and their families are not met by tomorrow evening.

In his statement, Lisani condemned the insults and mistreatment directed at the prisoners’ families by what he called the “forces of Persian fascism.” He emphasized that standing beside the oppressed and resisting injustice is both a national and humanitarian duty.

Mr. Lisani declared:

“If the hunger strike continues and the authorities fail to address their demands, I will begin a sit-in protest tomorrow in front of Evin Prison to support the prisoners and their families.”

Tahir Naqavi and Vadud Esedi have been on hunger strike since October 26, 2025, protesting unlawful imprisonment and denial of medical treatment. Their families have been holding a vigil and sit-in outside Evin Prison for several days, demanding justice and humane treatment.
