“Do not remain silent in the face of oppression — be the voice of the prisoners.”

These were the words of Atilla Esedi, the son of national activist Vudud Esedi, in his public address asking Azerbaijanies to support the political prisoners. According to Atilla Esedi, his father Vudud Esedi has been on hunger strike for 11 days.

Currently, Azerbaijani National Movement activists Tahir Naqavi and Vudud Esedi are on a hunger strike, and their condition is reported to be serious.

On November 5, the family of Azerbaijani lawyer Tahir Naqavi went to the prison to meet him, but the prison authorities denied the visit.

Only after several hours of persistent insistence by Naqavi’s family members were they allowed to speak with him briefly by phone.
